On the last part of our trip we stopped at Martin's Cove. It was a great place to stop. In the July Ensign, there is a talk by Elder L. Tom Perry called "The Strength of Our Heritage". He says Pioneer faith is needed as much in the world today as in any period of time. They had alot of faith, the hardships that they indured, I can't hardly imagine. When we got to Martin's Cove, we all wanted to pull a handcart, but we really didn't have good shoes on to walk the 8 miles. They let you go as far or as little as you want. We went around 2 miles in 95 degree heat (we are whimps). When the Saints arrived at Martin's Cove, they had already traveled 1000 miles. They had another 325miles to get to the Salt Lake Valley. So thankful for there great examples and hope that I can strive to be a great example, and that my faith will grow and grow. We are so blessed!
We loved the missionary couples that were there, what fun that would be. They also have a humanitarian building there to make quilt and things for the church. Great place and a great time for our family!
