...not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true. Alma 32:21 If faith is "planted" in a heart that is soft and open to the truth, it will grow and become knowledge. If the seed is not good, it will not grow; but if the seed is good, it will grow and enlarge the soul. Faith needs to be nourished, or cared for, so it will continue to grow and so its roots can dig deep into our hearts.
We have been trying to get back in the habit of having FHE on a more regular basis. We have not been doing very good at it. We also wanted to work on reading the Book of Mormon and get all the way through it. So, we had a FHE with people from the Book of Mormon. We let the kids know the day before that they had to come to dinner dressed as someone that was in the Book of Mormon, and they had to tell the story about there person. Doug did Lehi, and his family which I was glad because I thought the kids might do that one because it seems like they both know that story more that the rest of them. So they had to pick other ones.
Dalton was so excited about FHE, he come home and he decided that he wanted to be one of the 2000 stripling warriors. So he asked if I would cut him some feathers and he made a head dress for his costume. He read through the story, and then shared it with us. He wanted to read it to us after just in case he forgot something.
Michaela wanted to be a woman from the Book of Mormon, so she picked Abish. We learned alot from the story of Abish. We read a few articles, one said that there were only 3 women named in the Book of Mormon, Sariah (mother of Nephi), Isabel (harlot), and Abish(servant woman). Another article said there were 6 but did not list them. All other women are refered to as the Mothers of the stripling warriors, or Queen. It was interesting. Will really help us in our reading.
As for me, I was Isaiah. Isaiah's writings are in the Bible, but Nephi included alot of them in the Book of Mormon. Isaiah prophesied: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, when the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it". Don't you just love temples!
I found this reading chart on Pinterest, and loved the idea, so I made it for us to do. After we finish each book, we get to celebrate with something, but every one has to be there before we get to do it. I hope that way, we will encourage everyone. I got home from work tonight and Dalton had our scriptures out so we could read together, he is so excited about it! We read 4 chapters at 8:30 tonight. Love, love, love it! He said he would have them ready when we get home tomorrow.
The kids love to have dinner at the table with my "fancy" dishes, so I set the table with the "fancy" things. We had Poppy seed Chicken to start with the story about faith is like a seed. What a great night!!!

Such a great idea! Looks like a ton of fun - good luck!!!!!!!!:)
