This year for spring break, we decided to make a trip down to St. George, Utah. I believe it has been about 15 years since I have been down there. Michaela was 2 the last time we were there. She wanted to check out Dixie State and see what it was like down there.
This was once there jail, it was about the size of a bathroom. Big heavy metal door, and bars on the back windows like in a western movie.
Next we went and climbed the Dixie Rocks, they were amazing and we had the funnest time there. We could have spent alot more time there. Sometimes we had to come down on our butts, but we made it. It is a beautiful sight of the city, specially when you see it. That white temple really stands out among all of the red rocks in the area.
He is one strong boy to hold up that big rock!
The next day, we went to the temple and visitors center, Brigham Young's home. So beautiful!! We seen two new movies, on David Whitmer, and Oliver Cowdery. They were so good, it gave you such a different perspective on what they went through. Like all of the things that the church does the spirit always let you know that this is the true gospel of God. We are such a blessed people to have this gospel in our lives.
They had many original pieces in Brigham Young's home, it was beautiful. We talked with a missionary couple from the Rockland area, and she was a school teacher of some of the kids that Michaela became friends with when she went to New York. It is a small world sometimes.
We went then went down and showed the kids Las Vegas. We went to a dinner show, called the Tournament of Kings. We enjoyed it, I thought Dalton would like eating without any utensils, but he really was not to sure of it.
This was Merlin!
It really was not the best time in Vegas, most of the country was there and walking down the sidewalk you were bumping into people. You have a different feeling there and the cool hotels don't even compare to the temple. It is so worldly, Michaela thought that it was alot cleaner than New York, I was a little surprised by that.T
The fountains at the Bellagio were very pretty and they kind of dance to the Italian music they play.
One of the things that the kids enjoyed was the Coca-cola store. They has what they call the tastes of the world. We tried a few, a Bibo Kiwi Mango from South Africa. Mezzo Mix form Germany. Smart Watermelon from China, just to name a few. Some were good, some were very bad!!!!
I think the M & M store is very cute, but really if you want a certain colored M & M you better find a money tree because they cost a lot more. It is crazy how things are marketed.
We really had a good time getting away, so loved St. George. The kids had a good time even if it was a long ride.

What a fun family trip! I love St George-glad you got to go!!
